The 2027 Toyota Sequoia arrives with a focus on off-road capability and updated technology. The full-size SUV gains a new Trailhunter package, an upgraded TRD Pro model, and enhanced towing features to meet growing demand for adventure-ready family vehicles.
New Trailhunter Package for Overlanding
The new Trailhunter package targets buyers who explore remote trails. It is based on the SR5 trim and includes genuine off-road hardware. Standard features are an Old Man Emu suspension, underbody skid plates, front recovery hooks, and Michelin LTX Trail tires on bronze wheels. The package also adds a locking rear differential, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select. Starting at $75,595, it offers a more affordable factory off-road option than the TRD Pro, emphasizing overlanding and exploring remote trails.
Upgraded TRD Pro and Refreshed Styling
The TRD Pro model receives significant upgrades for 2027. It now features Sequoia-specific FOX QS3 adjustable shocks for improved suspension control. The model also includes 18-inch forged BBS wheels and standard red recovery hooks. A new Honeycomb exterior color is available. The entire Sequoia lineup has a refreshed front end with a wider design, new fog lights, and an updated grille. All models continue to use the 437-horsepower i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain with 583 lb-ft of torque, combining a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 with an electric motor to produce an impressive output. Maximum towing capacity remains 9,520 pounds when properly equipped.
Toyota has also improved the Sequoia’s towing technology. New features include automated trailer detection, trailer blind-spot monitoring, and trailer lane-tracing assistance. An improved trailer backup guide helps with maneuvering. Inside, the SUV offers Toyota’s latest multimedia tech, with an available 14-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. An integrated Drive Recorder dash camera is also available. Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 is standard across the lineup, bringing updated driver-assistance technology.
Pricing for the 2027 Sequoia starts at $72,095 for the SR5. The Limited begins at $77,695, the Platinum at $85,595, the 1794 Edition at $86,595, the TRD Pro at $88,120, and the Capstone at $90,095. The Trailhunter package provides a compelling option for buyers seeking off-road capability without the higher cost of the TRD Pro, while the updated TRD Pro’s new suspension hardware strengthens its appeal for adventure-minded families.
