Honda Prelude Limited Edition Disappoints Performance Fans - honda prelude
Honda releases the 2027 Prelude Limited Edition in Europe this autumn with a bold red exterior and interior.

Honda has unveiled a 2027 Limited Edition of its Prelude sports car, but it’s not the high-performance model fans were hoping for. The special edition, set to launch in Europe this autumn, features a bold red exterior and interior, but retains the standard car’s hybrid powertrain. Following strong demand after its debut in Japan, Honda decided to bring this special Prelude to Europe as a ‘limited-run’ to finish 2026, marking a strategic move to capitalize on its popularity.

A Red Makeover for the Honda Prelude

The 2027 Limited Edition Prelude boasts a new Crystal Garnet Metallic paint job, with red accents on the splitter, diffuser, and brake calipers. The 19-inch wheels have a darkened diamond cut finish, avoiding an all-red look. This exclusive paint is a key part of the makeover, ensuring the car stands out while maintaining a balanced aesthetic.

Inside, the car features Boreaux-colored leather upholstery, a departure from the standard black or two-tone blue and white options. Red contrast stitching and embroidery on the steering wheel, dashboard, and door cards complete the theme. The Prelude logo is also embroidered in red on the dashboard and door mats, reinforcing the cohesive design.

Performance Remains Unchanged

Despite the flashy exterior, the 2027 Limited Edition shares the standard Prelude’s 2-litre hybrid four-cylinder engine, producing 181bhp. This results in a 0-62mph time of 8.2 seconds, which is unremarkable for a sports car. The powertrain is paired with a CVT transmission, further limiting its performance credentials.

Pricing and Availability

Honda has not yet announced pricing or production numbers for the 2027 Limited Edition. However, it’s expected to cost around £45,000, exceeding the £41,595 starting price of the standard model. The exact production figures remain undisclosed, adding to the exclusivity of this limited-run model.
