Ford unveils 1,200-hp Bronco with 42-inch tires - ford bronco
The Frostwarden has been equipped with a 74Weld portal axle lift system, providing approximately four inches of additional ground clearance.

The Ford Bronco Frostwarden, a one-off creation, is set to make its debut at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This vehicle boasts a Megazilla 2.0 supercharged V8 crate engine, producing over 1,200 horsepower and more than 1,000 lb-ft of torque. The Frostwarden’s engine is a heavily upgraded version of Ford’s 7.3-liter pushrod V8, featuring a strengthened block, upgraded pistons, larger fuel injectors, and a revised camshaft. A 3.0-liter Whipple Gen 6 supercharger provides the necessary boost to achieve the extreme power output. For comparison, the naturally aspirated Megazilla crate engine produces 612 horsepower and 670 lb-ft of torque.

Vehicle Upgrades

The Frostwarden has been equipped with a 74Weld portal axle lift system, providing approximately four inches of additional ground clearance. The vehicle also features massive 42-inch BFGoodrich tires mounted on 18-inch Weld beadlock wheels, upgraded Dana axles, and custom Bilstein suspension components.

A heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission sourced from Ford’s Super Duty truck lineup has been installed. The vehicle’s exterior features a bold black-and-yellow finish, oversized fender flares, and a heavy-duty front bumper with a Warn winch and bright yellow recovery hardware.

Design and Features

The Frostwarden’s cabin features custom black-and-yellow Katzkin upholstery, additional off-road controls, and Megazilla branding on the steering wheel. The roof rack carries a full-size spare tire and additional rescue equipment, while an external fuel container provides extra capacity for remote adventures.

Although the Frostwarden is not intended for production, the Megazilla 2.0 engine will be offered through Ford’s performance parts program. Pricing and availability have not been finalized, but the naturally aspirated Megazilla currently lists for approximately $25,295. We’d expect the supercharged version to command a substantial premium.

Future Implications

The Megazilla 2.0 engine could inspire some incredible builds in the years ahead. As the industry continues to focus on electrification, it’s refreshing to see Ford investing in outrageous combustion-engine performance.
